A Great Cornish Adventure.
Every year without fail I get drawn to the rugged Cornish coasts, returning at least once a year out of necessity to plunge into the clear turquoise waters. Tumbling about deep sloshy waves in hidden coves, walking the coastal paths with the heady smell of bracken and wild flowers – it is a reminder of bygone summers.
Cornwall is a wild and soul-soothing place from which I always come back home a little more weathered by the elements and better for it.
The most recent trip was a couple of weeks ago in June (for midsummer). A pilgrimage to all our favourite spots, just me, my husband and our van – Guztav. Having had a recent delivery of new blanket designs we decided to bring them along to photograph in these enchanted landscapes.
Heading to Logan’s Rock (in the distance) - one of our locations for the photoshoot.

“It’s only the sea,’ said Moomintroll. Every wave that dies on the beach sings a little song to a shell. But you mustn’t go inside because it is a labyrinth and you may never come out again.”
Heading for a swim at Pedn Vounder beach.

“We sat talking on a rock. The air was filled with the tang of sea-weed and of something else that could only have been the ocean smell. I felt so happy that I wasn’t even afraid it wouldn’t last.”
The ghoul of Porth Nanven?

Post photoshoot, leaving Logan’s Rock, hungry and ready for lunch at a favourite spot - The Tolcarne Inn.
My new collection of blankets are woven and hand finished here in the U.K. crafted from a luxuriously soft merino lambswool. Perfect for all seasons whether warming up post swims at the beach or for snuggling up in mid-winter. These blankets are made in very small batches with every attention to detail from embroidered brand labels to the edges blanket-stitched by hand in contrasting yarns. Now available for a limited time from my online store.

Large dappled white and grey granite cobbles known as ‘Cot Valley Eggs’ are a distinctive and unique feature of Porth Nanven Beach – a perfect backdrop for my new ‘Topple’ blanket which features a playful abstract pattern inspired by cobbles and boulders balancing on top of each other.
Occasionally you can find these rocks balancing for real on the beach, left by some mysterious visitor – fleetingly on display until the next tide swallows them back into it’s waves.

“The Sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever.”
